I love this Chair! I must say that I realized when my child was 12 months, so I haven't tried it with a newborn. lean back and that is not adjustable, so I could see how a younger baby may need a pillow behind them to support, until they can sit up better. for us, though, it was great. It is lightweight, it folds very trim and it's not a huge monstrosity that you cannot fit anywhere. folds easily to take with you at Grandma's House, or to stick it on
